I’m a supporter of Gallup’s quality applied research into workplace health issues. This posting is looking at issues of importance during the COVID pandemic, particularly the rust out and burn out we are seeing, not just in healthcare, but in many other industries as well. This article highlights what separates people at risk of burn out, versus those that are not at risk? For starters, they are engaged at work. They also have high wellbeing. These two combined make for a formidable duo. The third one is that they work in a culture that celebrates each person’s strength. I have had the pleasure of working in both supportive and destructive workplace environments, and I believe that the supportive ones are far more enjoyable and rewarding!
