One issue that I frequently remind #employers and other stakeholders about is that the effects of the #sarscov2 virus and #covid19 disease will be felt long after it moves into the endemic phase. We are learning more about “long haulers’ as time goes on, these are people with lingering health issues long after the acute phase of the illness has passed. They will have significant implications for #workdisability programs and approaches to #accommodations. Here is a recent article published in Springer Nature Group https://lnkd.in/gU-c4xy The call is a need to reframe and go beyond case counts and fatalities to years of life lost or impacted and other metrics, a common approach in #disabilitymanagement and #disabilityprevention. This is even more reason to use #covidvaccines and continue with #controlandprevention as long as possible to prevent as much #morbidity as possible.
